The office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) was created in 1950, the UN Refugee Agency has been dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights and building a better future for people who have been forced to flee violence, persecution, war or disaster at home many of which have nobody left to turn to.
SOS Children’s Villages South Africa is an independent, non-governmental organisation that advocates for the rights of the most marginalised children. It offers care for children and young people who have lost or are at risk of losing parental care. This is done through family-based care and family strengthening programmes.
